Fashion designer Jaime Elyse, known for the global success of her couture bridal collection, has announced the launch of a new red carpet collection. On the heels of a successful Emmy Awards show season, for which she dressed several actresses, Elyse is putting together a collection of looks to debut at retail in 2016.
Jaime Elyse has been immersed in fashion since she was a young girl. With an innate penchant for design, she pored through fashion magazines and would frequent the local thrift shop to purchase garments that she could deconstruct and study how they were made. Self-taught, after high school she worked under the tutelage of Jessica McClintock bridal, and soon embarked on her own couture bridal designs. She is now ready to take on Hollywood’s red carpet.
Elyse believes that textiles are one of the most important elements of design. When consulting with clients for couture dresses, she meets one-on-one to determine the best silhouette and pairs it with the material best suited to bring the design to life.
She finds inspiration in architecture, with London, Paris and New York as her muses. “The architecture and beauty in the buildings is very similar to how garments are created. I enjoy looking at how all of the elements come together. It is similar to textiles. The luxe texture and weight of Duchess silk falls beautifully on the silhouette and is stunning in both person and images. While the depth of design for French lace allows for easy, seamless sculpting.”
An architect of couture, Elyse crafts garments into pieces of wearable sculpture.
